Chris Quinnell

Chris graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 2004 after first completing an undergraduate degree in Sports Science at Edith Cowan University. His physio journey has seen him work in a variety of clinical settings in Australia and the UK, from ICU departments and post-operative rehabilitation clinics to private practice. Over the past 10 years, Chris has been lucky enough to have worked full-time in High Performance roles within the elite sports setting, firstly with the Perth Glory and most recently servicing WA’s state cricketers and the Perth Scorchers at the WACA. His career highlights include involvement in the (unfortunately, losing!) 2012 A-League Grand Final, a successful 2016 Big Bash Final, multiple State One Day Cup Final wins, the 2017 U19s Cricket National Championship victory, and in 2019 he was the physio for the Cricket Australia XI tour match vs Pakistan.

Although he has a depth of experience managing most musculoskeletal issues, Chris has a passion for diagnosing and treating sports injuries and believes strongly in the value of comprehensive strength and conditioning principles within the framework of an holistic management plan, utilising his accreditation as an ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach to assist in the development of effective return to play programmes. These same principles and philosophies are just as important in elite sports as they are for the weekend warrior and anyone in between!

Chris is a long-suffering Dockers supporter who’s favourite MOTION used to be any and all sports, but particularly basketball and getting to the gym, but lately consists purely of getting up at the crack of dawn to chase his toddler around the house.
