Growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa, Carla spent time playing numerous sports and found her love for Physio by being well managed back to good health time and time again. She completed her BSc Physiotherapy degree through Stellenbosch University in Cape Town in 2007. She worked in a rural village on the Mozambican border for a year before joining private practice in Johannesburg in 2009.
Carla completed 2 year-long diplomas in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy before the travel bug hit and she moved overseas. She spent her first year based in Holland, working full-time for the South African Women’s hockey team as they prepared for the London 2012 Olympics. At the Olympics, Carla was employed by FIFA and was responsible for providing physiotherapy services to the football referees.
London then became home for the next 6 years where Carla worked for a group of private practices at various locations across the city. She specialised in various fields, first manual therapy and then rehabilitation, pilates and motor-control. She also took over clinic management of the Fleet street clinic in 2013 and progressed into managing the Fitzrovia clinic in 2017 which was one of the largest clinics in London.
In 2015, Carla completed the manual concepts course through Curtin University and fell in love with Australia and particularly Perth, where she later relocated to in 2019. Her major passions are combining manual and rehab concepts in order to treat soft tissue injuries, fascial chain issues and the foot and ankle.
Carla’s favourite type of MOTION is running, cycling, swimming (including triathlons) as well as tennis. However, she can also easily be persuaded to drink a glass of wine or a coffee
